The XXIst IAGA Workshop on Geomagnetic Observatory Instruments, Data Acquisition, and Processing (KAKIOKA2026) will take place in Ishioka City, Japan, in October 2026. Organized by Division V of the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA), in collaboration with the host institution, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), this biennial international workshop aims to ensure national observation standards, improve measurement accuracy, and strengthen the global geomagnetic observation network.

We, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), are honored to welcome the workshop back to Japan for the first time in 22 years, following the 11th IAGA Workshop held in Kakioka in 2004. The program will feature three main events: a DIM comparison session, a scientific session covering a wide range of topics related to geomagnetic observation, and a summer school.
